Time flys and so do aprons and pitchers. Poor Evelyn.

Sometimes it takes a milestone for you to stop and realize how fast time flies. Last year I drove a 14 year old car, this year I don't. Christmas is now less than 6 months away and the start of another school year is out of sight out of mind right now. Last year at this time I knew the whereabouts of the apron, this year I don't. I also do not know the whereabouts of one Evelyn.

A year ago we all gathered to celebrate life and get together and have fun. We enjoyed good food, lots of laughs and a Mojito or two, mixed by the ever charming and talented Adam. This year Angela took over the mixing duties and used lovely Evelyn. Evelyn is a pewter pitcher that Lois provided both last year and this year to mix the Mojitos in. Evelyn is the souvenir of years of vacations in the Hampton's (yea, those Hampton's) and had 6 little pewter cups that Lois called Evelyn's children. It is a good thing to drink from Evelyn's children, they keep the drink icy cold and refreshing. It seems that no one would ever want to part Evelyn and her children, nor would they like to make my poor apron-less sister fret over another of her prized possessions. How wrong we are!!

Mysteriously sometime during the day of last June 26th Evelyn vanished!! I saw her on the crowded counter near the mint and simple syrup and never gave it another thought. Not 24 hours later than an all point missing pitcher report was made, in capital letters, alerting us all of her disappearance! Amazing!

So here we are on year two of the Great Apron Caper, where even gray haired older gentlemen can be coerced into crime by donning the plaid cover-up right under Lois' nose, and the pitcher if pilfered!! Who could have don't it?? Who would dare?? I have an idea but cant prove a thing.

Yes time does fly...welcome to Year 2 of the Missing Apron and Year 1 of the Case of Evelyn the Vanishing Pitcher. Just where is Nancy Drew when you need her??
